Do I really need my OB's approval first?
Yes — it's our hard rule, and it should be any provider's. Pregnancy care runs through your obstetrician; we treat as a coordinated extension of their plan, never independently of it. We're happy to contact their office for you.
What's in the anti-nausea medication, and is it safe in pregnancy?
We use the standards of pregnancy care — typically ondansetron or metoclopramide — and only per your OB's direction for your specific case. Medication choice, dose, and timing follow their guidance.
When is morning sickness an emergency instead?
Signs of severe dehydration (dizziness, minimal dark urine, confusion), inability to keep anything down for 24+ hours, weight loss, or blood in vomit — call your OB immediately or go to the ER. Hyperemesis gravidarum is real and deserves full medical care.
Can this help with hyperemesis gravidarum?
As supportive care within your OB's protocol, yes — many HG patients use home IV hydration between medical visits. It's supplemental support, never a substitute for your doctor's management.
